It has been a month since I last blogged. I am finding it
harder and harder to make the time to write. The school year is winding down and
I will soon have all the time I need. May was another busy month. We
worked with lots of little artists and made some wonderful Father's Day gifts.
They attend Black Gold Outreach School. Black Gold Outreach is a district service that offers alternate education programs designed to address individual student needs. We started the workshop with how to make a pinch pot and then they went from there.
It was a fun afternoon and this is where they went.
The second group of older students was another great group, but this time from Riverbend Junior High.
They had just gotten back from a school trip to Greece and wanted to make a Greek like vase for their parents to say thank you for giving them such a wonderful experience.
They too started with a pinch pot, but went in a much different direction.
Pinch pots are one of the oldest ways forming clay, but for these kids, it was all very new. The kids had fun and we did too. They were a good couple of workshops, but then we seldom have a workshop that is not.
As much as I enjoy doing the workshops, I am looking forward to the summer and a change of pace

Until next time.
